Where else can you find rare and vintage Cigar boxes other than at an Auction House, especially when it is a special Trinidad Fundadores Cigar box, signed by Fidel Castro himself.
A wooden box, measuring 8.25 x 4.5 x 3, signed in blue ink pen, accompanied by a photo of Castro signing the box for Eva Haller. She said she was joking when she told Fidel Castro:
“if you sign the box, I will sell it and make lots of money…” and he did it!
The auction will take place in Boston at RR Auction, on the 10th of January, 2018, at 19:00 ET. As per their website, “RR Auction is an auction house headquartered in Boston’s North End with a production office based in Amherst, New Hampshire.”
Since the beginning of the 802, the Trinidad Fundadores were considered a prestigious gift only given by Fidel Castro to foreign dignitaries, as they were exclusively produced for him. Below are the details of the Box:
