Cohiba 50 Aniversario


Habanos, S.A. is proud to present the most exclusive and luxurious series to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cohiba brand. This special edition has a special vitola that was neither existing within Cohiba series nor within other Habanos brand. It consists of a unique format of 7” x 60.

The Cohiba 50 Anniversario edition summarize the 5 decades of Cohiba through its unique flavors. Made totally by hand with long filler at “El Laguito” factory in Havana, it consists of the finest selection of the best Cuban wrapper, filler and binder leaves from the finest vegas fields in Vuelta Abajo.


As per Habanos, S.A. news release, all the Cohiba 50 Aniversario cigars have a primary band designed in black and gold with the 50th anniversary seal, made with painstaking printing techniques, and individually numbered.

This Habano also presents a new base band that reminds us of the first commercial design of the Cohiba brand i.e. colonial-inspired.

This special edition is presented in an exclusive luxury cabinet humidor, with production limited to only 50 units.

Below are the technical details of the Cabinet Humidor as prescribed by Habanos, S.A.:

The case is made of different precious woods, including Makassar ebony, sycamore and Guarea Cedrata or Scented Guarea. The external doors are composed of carefully selected authentic “ligero” Vuelta Abajo leaves coated with 24-carat gold leaf.

The piece is a work of art and a unique collector’s item.

The Cabinet humidor also includes a range of accessories including a travel humidor for five Habanos, a handmade leather cigar case and an ashtray made with the same marquetry technique.

“In addition, following the innovative profile of the Cohiba brand and this project, this cabinet features a device that allows its owner to follow the temperature and humidity conditions in the humidor directly on their smartphone or tablet, thanks to an app that will be remotely connected to a sensor inside the humidor.”

The cabinet humidor numbered 01 was auctioned at the traditional humidor auction concluding the 18th Habanos Festival Gala Evening for USD.360,000.

lanza_50ani6The owners of these exclusive cabinets will have the unique ability to monitor the humidity and temperature levels inside their humidors with a sensor found only inside the 50 cabinets.

Cohiba 50 Anniversary application allows the owners of these cabinets to monitor live the readings from within their own humidors. They have the ability to set alarms for both humidity and temperature and receive notifications on their smartphones when an alert gets triggered. They can of course check historic data from their sensors and alert logs.

A digital certificate of authenticity similar to the one inside the cabinet is also available from inside the application. The owner can also initiate a transfer of ownership request in case he decides to sell his humidor.

The owner has the ability to enable security for the application either with a 4digit passcode or with Touch ID for the supported devices.

The application includes a widget for the user to be able and check the humidity and temperature from his lock screen.
